Once a fierce hunter of the Durus Synaxi kindred, Gabriel was left broken and scarred from the devastating blow that ended the Caelestian Demon Crusades. With his race destroyed, his companions slain, and his life in ruin, Gabriel suffered various severe psychological breakdowns in the aftermath. Alone and mentally unstable, he wandered the empty wastelands for nearly two years until stumbling upon the Caelestian Temple City of Charyn. Afflicted by an acute case of dissociative personality disorder and post traumatic stress, Gabriel struggles to build a peaceful new life, one free from the crippling horrors of the old.

Born in an impoverished salvaging community under Caelestian control, Alexandria is well aware of the harsh life presented by the wastelands. Following a heated skirmish between Durus raiders and Caelestian Templar, her hometown was reduced to rubble and an investigation was conducted to root out potential Durus sympathizers. With the aid of her father Gerard, Caelestian Inquisitors convicted and terminated several alleged Heretics, including Lexi’s mother. As reprimand for his services, Gerard was rewarded with level 2 Caelestian citizenship, and was able to transfer into Charyn City along with his six year old daughter. Despite being subject to a life of abuse and neglect, Lexi is strong willed and stout hearted. She acts as a surrogate mother to her half-sister, Abigail, and is fiercely protective of those she cares for.

In his earlier life, Ben and his family enjoyed the comforts of 8th rank citizenship within Charyn City’s prosperous urban center. His father earned a successful living as a contracted auxiliary for the Templar forces during the Demon Crusades. During the last years of the wars, he was caught in a Durus ambush and killed, leaving the McLawens without a source of income. Unable to sustain their enriched lifestyle, Ben and his mother were forced into the lower ranking slums on the city’s outer rim. He is well educated and a natural leader and although he still harbors a grudge against the Durus for his father’s death, Ben keeps a positive outlook on life.

Born and raised in the impoverished low ranking sector of Charyn City, Erin and her brother Cain have had little connection with both the higher social classes of the city core, and the feral wastelands that lie beyond the city walls. Flighty and playful, Erin starkly contrasts her brother’s pessimism, and has little concern for things that do not directly affect her. She will always try to make the best of bad situations, and thoroughly enjoys life, despite its inconveniences.

Along with his sister Erin, Cain is native to the slums of outer Charyn City. Although genuinely a good natured person, Cain has become bitter and resentful of the higher ranks of Caelestian citizenship. Having lived his whole life on the scraps of his social superiors, he has developed a rather gloomy and sarcastic attitude towards life in the outer rim.
